OLYMPIAD WILL FALL

▷ Lady Delphine Bane
age; 18
house; Greater House of Hades
bio; Heir to the House of Hades, Delphine did not inherit her mother’s sickness. She takes after her father in body and personality. She despises the other houses and how they own the smallest amount of land. She is a gifted sorceress and like her father is in over her head with the powers she is messing with. She has successfully summoned a greater demon from the underworld a feat even her father couldn't do at her age, or anyone else for that matter. Delphine serves her god without question and the house prophets say she is to be Hades human consort. She is the apple of her father’s eye, and a shadow in the back of her mother’s mind. Lady Morana has a suspicious feeling about the future of her daughter. While they say Delphine is destined for great things, Morana herself knows the true consequences of being the god of the underworlds consort. Because while they think Delphine takes after her father, in all truth she is her mother's daughter.

There is always one moment in childhood when the door opens and lets the future in.
~Graham Greene

This was originally supposed to be a new character set, but now it's sort of centered around her childhood after losing her mother.

To Win, To Die

To Win, To Die
http://www.polyvore.com/to_win_die_twtd/group.show?id=141281

Based on the series A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin and HBO's hit TV show, Game of Thrones. All belongs to them.

“When you play a game of thrones you win or you die.”

“Oh, my sweet summer child...what do you know of fear?
Fear is for the winter...when the snows fall a hundred feet
deep and the ice wind comes howling out of the north. Fear is for the long
night, when the sun hides its face for years at a time, and little children
are born and live and die all in darkness while the direwolves grow gaunt and
hungry, and the white walkers move through the woods”

“Life is not a song, sweetling.
Someday you may learn that, to your sorrow.”

***

All know love is a battlefield, but when love is not even in the picture, will a girl fight tooth and nail for the advancement of herself and their family? Will she fight to the death to marry a man she does not love?

In Westeros, the answer is yes, and in truth, women play the game of thrones so much better than men, even if they have more to lose, and less to gain.

***

Winter is Coming, and there is a war brewing, an uprising on its way. The common folk are unhappy with the Targayen's rule and ready to start a rebellion. The King is gathering his forces, ready to squash all in his path, but there are whispers that some of the Great houses are ready to oppose him as well. The King and his advisors know they must make alliances, before all band against him, and the best way to do so is marriage. The King has three sons and two daughters, and he is prepared to go against tradition and well them all to individuals from other houses. So, he makes a command that all nobles under the age of twenty and five must come to court, so he can make the best matches for his children.

While men go to war, it is the women who fight the real battles, and King's Landing has never seen one so fierce.

Name: Marina Selene Toulson
Age & House: 17, Gryffindor
Ancestry: Pureblood
Bio: Anyone who doesn’t know Marina’s parents would never guess that they are a pureblood family. They would also never guess that Marina was their daughter. Her parents hate the politics of the wizarding world, and they found it too messy a society to raise their children in, so they took off. Marina grew up on a house-boat, sailing all the way down to the Mediterranean and back. When Marina’s Hogwarts letter was delivered to her grandmother’s house in Poole, her parents realized they couldn’t run anymore, and returned to England. While her parents ran away from conflict, Marina never does. She’s a wizard (pun intended) at diffusing tension. When she arrived at Hogwarts, the Sorting Hat had some trouble deciding where to place her, eventually deciding on Gryffindor, because above all, she’s adventurous and curious. She’s filled with endless questions, especially in her best classes, Charms and Divination. Her curious nature sometimes gets her into sticky situations.

I was sorted into Hufflepuff on Pottermore, and it was my intention to create a character that was too, but when this character came to me, I realized she had to be a Gryffindor, so, here you go!

- WRITE A STORY
This would be my last year at hogwarts. Stuffing all my books and sweaters into a bag, tossing spare Galleons and Sickles into my wallet, packing all of my things for my last year at Hogwarts. This year would be the culmination of my magical education, the best year at Hogwarts yet. I had to make it memorable.

I don't play for the prestigious Gryffindor Quidditch team, but I'm a high fan. Quidditch is the most dynamic, exciting sport I've ever seen, but it's not quite for me. I'm not the athletic type, I'm more of a bookworm. I suppose I get that from my mother, she's a Ravenclaw. I was a bit surprised I wasn't sorted into Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff when I first started Hogwarts; those were the two great houses I knew the most about. It makes sense though, my Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff traits can be attributed to my parents, but my Gryffindor side is all my own.

"Marina," my mother knocked on my bedroom door "come downstairs, we're going to eat before we head to the platform.
"All right," I sighed, zipping up the last of my luggage. Bandit, my black cat, trailed behind me as I descended the stairs.
"Can't believe it's your final year of Hogwarts, poppet. How'd you get so old?" he asked with The Daily Prophet covering the smug smile I knew was on his face.
"Well if I'm old, you must be ancient!"I told him, pouring myself some tea. I sat down at the table and my Grandmother pushed a plate in front of me.
"Muffins dear, I know they're your favorite," she smiled, sipping her tea delicately.
"When do I get to go?" my brother whined, slouching down into a chair.
"Next year, and I won't have to deal with you," I said as he stuck his tongue out at me, and I followed suit.

"Be careful sweetheart," my mother reminded me, as she did every year. The smoke billowed from the Hogwarts Express, just having arrived at Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. The first years were easy to spot, lacking any emblems or symbols that declared loyalty to a house. My cloaks were emblazoned with small Gryffindor crests.
"Do you have all your books?" my father asked hands placed protectively on my shoulders.
"Yes father," I smiled, patting on of my bags, hearing the reassuring thud of book covers.
"What about-"he started, before I interrupted.
"Hogwarts has one of the largest magical libraries in the world, father, I think I'll be all right."
"Good then," he smiled, pulling me into a hug. I hugged the rest of my family, quickly ruffling my brother Heath's hair before boarding the train. I took in every detail I could, on my last trip on the Hogwarts Express, snacking on Chocolate Frogs and Bertie Bott's Every-Flavour Beans. As we came closer I stared out the window, smiling at the looming silhouette of my second home in the distance.

Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, "But friendship is the breathing rose, with sweets in every fold," so let's all try to be friends, yeah? Also, if there's anything you need to know about anything, I'm bound to know it.
